Advanced Technology and Treatment
Throughout the area, Batavia Radiation Oncology Associates is known for advanced treatment methods and technology. The Center was the first in the region to treat patients with Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), a three-dimensional technique that shapes and adjusts the high-energy radiation beams so that the dose is concentrated in the tumor while healthy surrounding tissue and structures are spared. With IMRT, many tumors that cannot be removed surgically can still be eradicated or controlled.
Since 1992, the Batavia Radiation Oncology Associates has been continuously accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR). The nation’s leading accreditation body for radiation oncology, the ACR recommended the Center for excellence in medical care, patient safety, and service to patients and the community.
